MUSSOORIE: Congress’ Mussoorie candidate Manmohan Singh Mall has accused his political rivals of hatching conspiracy and spreading rumours about his candidature from the party. He was referring to the reports that on the last day of nomination, Congress had extended support to Preetam Singh Panwar from Uttarakhand Kranti Dal for the Mussoorie seat.
Speaking to TOI, Mall said “All this confusion was a pure effort to sabotage my political career of 42 years.

Some seniors in Congress seemed to have created this confusion. The letter of support to PDP’s candidate, that was doing the rounds, only added to the confusion.
"Let them support him if they want. The fact remains that I have the party symbol and I am contesting the elections on the Congress ticket. Now the scrutiny is also done and it’s in my favour. I am focusing on my work and busy with canvassing. Voters are with me.”
“There is no question of me returning the ticket. The ticket will go only if Congress throws me out,” Mall told TOI then.
